we've moved repos to private hosting, had meetings on what the open source strategy looks like, and now we wait for higher ups to sign off

but the gist is github will mirror the private repos

end of august is the hope but we have no control over when higher ups sign off, but there is a customer requiring it so the movement has some oomph to it

currently prod is 5.4, 5.5 has been tagged but likely not out until new year
