Thanks, mc_! It is sounding more and more like "the powers that be" have no desire to release a newer version of kazoo to open source. I guess we should have accepted that a year or two ago. Than you for being an advocate for those few of us that are left.

Ysean: I'm working with a few people to support Kazoo v4 btw. It's not fast as its what we have on our free time

Mooseable: That's awesome! I caught a bit of what you and ruhnet have been doing with getting Kazoo 4 to build/run on "centos" 8. It's invaluable.

mc_: would there be any way to get some of the unavailable source code from v4? like kazoo_db (though we've updated instructions to use postgres), or any assist on how mod_kazoo works so I can update it to work with the latest version of freeswitch?

or should I say, update kazoo v4 to work with mod_kazoo on the latest version of freeswitch :P

So far, anything beyond FS 1.10.9 doesn't recieve/process messages from kazoo v4, even with the message size changes

so far, enabling "legacy-events" to true in freeswitch, causes it to crash :)

Mooseable: my FS is "FreeSWITCH Version 1.10.11-release-25-f24064f7c9~64bit (-release-25-f24064f7c9 64bit)"

So it may be it's something particular to an unrelated lib on Rocky that is causing those issues. (??)

I'm on deb11 for FS, tho if prefer deb12. Maybe there's something in the Configs I'm missing.

Hmm well that's what I'm on too. Surely it's some config somewhere? Or maybe there is some slight variation/bug in FS minor versions.

Mooseable: i believe there's an old version of kazoo_db floating around, i haven't tried compiling it

i missed the update, bnc didn't catch it, but reading between the lines, sounds like kazoo open source is dead, and community support is going to be the only path forward?

disregard, i thought it was an old version of db_kazoo, but it's just an old version of the kazoo module

fink: I wouldn't put that negative a spin on it. I come more from a line of, the Centos7 rpms are no longer helpful because Centos7 is eol and I'm more likely to suffer a system compromise in the next 12 months than I belive that we will see v5 rpms on a newer OS

Well, according the mc_, the messaging has been consistent that they have maintained the desire and plan. It's only the execution of it that has been delayed for whatever internal reasons. Now, whether or not they actually follow through in the release remains to be seen, but the messaging has been clear of the "intent" to do so. Hopefully it is followed through at some point. In the mean time the people I

deal with are just pressing ahead with v4.3.
