I was amazed to find this bug in such a mature product github.com/2600hz/kazoo/blob/master…web/test/kz_http_util_tests.erl#L94 Can you spot the problem? look at the username@password:, it should be username:password@ I'm trying to write a patch but its surprisingly tricky to handle all the possible variations.

OTP introduced uri_string:parse/1 in OTP 21, this implementation predates that

and must not get used too often with basic auth included on the URI
