08:54:40 WTF is this bullshit that completely normal software like Nextcloud, Paperless and Jellyfin now pulls in nvidia-kmod as mandatory dependency? Is FreeBSD going to the loony bin as well now? 09:00:30 do you have it installed currently? you can ask pkg about the dependency graph, e.g. with https://paste.debian.net/plainh/0d0788c6 and look what chain pulls it in 09:03:54 ah, well in that case pkg query '%rn' is probably better to see the reverse dependencies directly, but the kmod shouldn't have any as far as I know 09:05:30 No, the kmods are not currently installed, but "pkg upgrade" tries to install them. I could also completely wipe the jail and do a fresh install, then it won't try to install them - but on the next "pkg upgrade", the issue will be back again. 09:24:22 zilti: I don't think it's nextcloud. I have it installed in a jail and that kmod is not pulled. 09:25:00 I'd find it crazy if it were 09:37:02 karolyi: well it's wayland. Not a hard requirement for nextcloud, but one for paperless-ngx (and jellyfin, but that software is a mess anyways) 09:37:15 So I guess I can't run paperless-ngx in a jail anymore 09:51:22 zilti: My guess would be that it is some pkg bug and it wants to install some unrelated package for some reason, can you open a problem report? 10:39:39 nimaje: I'll look into it, yes 10:41:00 Upgrading Vaultwarden tries to install two different mysql-client and four different postgresql-client versions, also making upgrading vaultwarden impossible 13:19:25 maybe look at the end of pkg -vv to see if you happen to have quarterly and latest both enabled zilti 16:22:08 hi, is pkg being broken on -current a known issue ? 17:15:25 f451: is it? 17:52:31 Does someone run a jellyfin server with the FreeBSD port/package? 17:55:05 CrtxReavr: Yes, I recently started testing it. 17:56:10 ibs, I'm strugglign with the stupidest of things. . .. 17:56:31 CrtxReavr: I've been running Jellyfin for a while. What's up? 17:56:54 It's running (via rc.conf) and I can connect to its web console on port 8096, but what account am I suppose to use to log into it? 17:57:17 It created and runs as a 'jellyfin' user, and I've set a password for it, but that gets me nowhere. 17:59:05 CrtxReavr: When you first access the web UI, it should prompt you to set up the service including the "admin" account. 17:59:09 Then, you would log in with that. 17:59:22 It did not. 17:59:34 There someway to reset it to some baseline? 18:00:36 Well, I'd imagine you can uninstall and wipe out the DB and just start fresh. Sure. 18:13:30 ek, well. . . that worked. 18:14:02 Excellent! 18:14:07 I must have done that when I first installed it sometime ago and forgotten when I actaully tried to use it in ernest. 18:14:39 It's possible. I hope you didn't put in too much work just to start over again. 18:14:46 (Plex finally went ahead with their threats to charge you monthy to watch your own content after I already paid for their various apps.) 18:15:12 I do like Jellyfin. The only downside is the Apple TV app support. There is a new one coming along (Stingray), but it still has a long way to go. 18:15:42 I have Plex as well. I liked it. But, they have done some weird stuff. 18:16:02 Plex works well on FBSD, too. 18:16:16 I haven't seen any charge threats, though. 18:18:35 Well, I've used a FreeBSD plex server in the past with no issuse. 18:19:19 But my main plex server was window, and it very recently started telling me "remote playback" was a subscription feature. 18:19:40 I feel like I've used plex for 20 years. . . 18:25:10 i hate the idea of paying this unknown entity to stream my own files on my own network 18:28:32 Did anyone try swiftfin? 18:28:42 CrtxReavr: you can reset the admin password, which drops a file on the filesystem with the password 18:30:01 I also primarily use Plex, but only for local playback. The metadata system/matching is more robust. 18:31:24 I have zero need for local playback. .. I want to stream to chromecast from my phone or use the "app" on my TV. 18:32:24 i use the app on my tv, for jellyfin 18:32:37 That's my plan. 18:34:35 topcat001: I've tried just about everything out there as far as clients go. The actual Jellyfin app for iOS, Android, Linux, Windows, etc is actually pretty decent and does everything I need. 18:34:46 Only Apple TV apps are CRAZY lacking. 18:35:00 wholphin works great on androidtv 18:38:46 CtrxReavr: are you getting the "remote playback" message when using it at home on the same network? 18:39:05 (I have the lifetime sub, so I'm sticking with it for now, I assume Jellyfin will catch up in the coming years) 18:39:52 hate the login system... I remember the days when you could install it, install an app on your streaming box and just have it autodiscover your server 18:42:11 ek: I haven't swiftfin yet. Need to revive my Jellyfin instance. My ATV is hooked up to my main system where I watch stuff. 18:57:48 topcat001: Swiftfin is pretty useless. 18:58:12 I wish it wasn't. Of course, I haven't messed with it in a while. Maybe it's been updated and is better now. 18:59:11 So far, Stingray appears to be the best option. But, it can't do sub-directories at the moment. So, it only picks up on certain things. 18:59:22 Most stuff works, though. And the interface is nice. 19:09:25 cool thanks 21:08:35 rtprio: fixed by "doas rm -rvf pkg ports" in /var/db 21:09:14 by "fixed" i mean i need to note all whats installed in /usr/local and reinstall 21:51:57 CrtxReavr: maybe instead of use direct video+audio share \ try search minidlna players alternatives if there any... 21:52:37 CrtxReavr: as long as chromecast support dlna or have app for that... 21:52:55 I say we send out a bunch of agents to check everything, I just need a few billion dollars 22:31:42 I'm having connectivity issues with shared ip jails on bastille. Can't seem to get them to connect to the internet. I thought it was a wireguard problem because disabling wg would work, but now it doesn't seem to work even without a wg vpn connection. I honestly have no idea how to debug this lol 23:05:13 i think i fixed it, the bastille setup command is a little buggy. Apparently the jails table that it generated on pf.conf was not being populated and the nat was only configured for the $ext_if 23:07:53 nice! 23:07:57 Good to know. 23:10:28 gave me headaches lol
