07:50:36 Does anyone have already encountered the following error ? 07:50:38 "drmn0 ERROR CPU Pipe B FIFO underrun" 07:50:40 It seems related to i915 but search engines (ddg/Google) are showing result only for Linux. 10:35:01 the linux results may be relevant, since the freebsd drm-kmod drivers are taken from linux 11:01:24 Should I be concerned about permission warnings such as these during buildworld as a non-root user? 11:02:35 no 11:55:11 doug_713705: not quite the same, but (2020-08-08) included: 11:55:14 Title: HW probe of Acer Aspire V5-531 #9168df8552: dmesg 11:56:01 > [...] [drm:intel_cpu_fifo_underrun_irq_handler] CPU pipe A FIFO underrun 11:56:18 Is anything visibly wrong when the error occurs? 12:45:44 grahamperrin: is it misbehaving? 12:48:48 hi 12:48:58 please is there anyone playing oolite on 13.2? 12:54:56 Hi, I'm trying to install a nodejs package, from /compat/ubuntu, but I'm getting EHOSTUNREACH 2606:4700::6810:1223:443, that means the host is trying to reach the destination by using ipv6. How can I disable ipv6 from /compat/ubuntu? 13:31:03 meena0: hi, the FIFO underrun question cmae from doug_713705 13:36:05 came 18:01:56 hey all, what is the install size of a minimal freebsd system, that is just base and the kernel, no swap, ports or pkg's used to be tiny but a while since I have had to do it 18:02:01 and 'ish' will do 18:02:10 for 13 release 18:06:09 daemon: 300~? 18:37:14 meena0, ports itself is 1gig 18:37:23 and a default minimal install is roughly that 18:37:31 where did you get this 300* from? 18:40:40 meena0, cheers thought around there 18:40:48 Regarding minimum size: I have a jail with base only installed (no kernel, no ports) and it is 460MB in size. 18:40:54 512M should kill it then, just wanted to make sure we had not gone about that yet :) 19:16:40 Hi, folks! I have a question regarding power mgmt on a laptop... 19:16:40 Since hwpstate_intel replaced powerd & powerdxx, is there an automated way that depending on if AC is plugged in or not the "dev.hwpstate_intel.0-N.epp" values get adopted? (on AC epp=0, on battery epp=100 - or something like that)? I couldn't find any replacement for powerd (which kind of had that functionality)... 19:22:00 you can still use powerd 19:24:23 grahamperrin: Thanks 19:26:04 meena0: Is it misbehaving when the "CPU pipe A FIFO underrun" pops up ? Yes. The system was terribly slow and when I started a X session external monitores (its a laptop) displayed nothing 19:26:34 A reboot was necessary to recover the situation 19:34:05 Yeah, powerd starts, but in my case it does not adapt frequencies. I have started it as service and run "stress" with 4 threads - unplug/plug AC and checked the reported CPU frequency with sysctl. No change. 19:34:27 I am using a T480 if it's worth mentioning. 19:36:20 and I have the following powerd_flags: "-a hiadaptive -b adaptive -n adaptive -m 400 -M 1901 p 500 -N" 19:39:45 The only change I can see for freq is when I adapt the epp values via sysctl. 19:40:40 doug_713705: can you reproduce the behaviour? if so, file a bug 20:56:21 Anyone using novnc on FreeBSD? Why isn't novnc_proxy in a PATH dir? 20:57:23 Having it in a libexec dir makes me thing something else should be running it. 21:29:21 skered: you'd have to ask the porter 21:29:44 oh, the whole thing lives in libexec 21:32:53 Yeah, a lot of the python stuff hasn't been pythonized either. 21:33:16 It seems to work but just looks odd vs other distros. 22:11:34 Hi there, I'm having touble with using wifi on my HP laptop. Here is the output of pciconf (plz excuse the uncivilized screenshot) http://0x0.st/HbEe.jpg. 23:08:49 Bah. They left just as I started looking. 23:23:39 If woland comes back and I'm not active, I'd try checking whether if_rtwn.ko is loaded, and to load it otherwsise. If pciconf doesn't show it recognizing the interface, that may be because of RTL8821A (listed as supported) vs RTL8821CE. 23:23:59 s/wsise/wise/
