01:43:34 Hi :) I'm experiencing an odd behaviour on FreeBSD 13.1. When I dock my laptop to a docking station with an external monitor, I have to switch to a virtual TTY with C-M-f1, then back to X Windows with M-f9, before XOrg will detect the external monitor. I know this used to work several major versions ago; might I be missing a devd rule or something? 02:03:00 gogofc_: that isn't really a thing in freebsd, if the CPU is waiting for IO, it can be used for other stuff, and is just idle basically 02:35:48 /leave 04:08:03 is that... not also a thing the other OS can do? 05:07:28 <_xor> Isn't the OS responsible, through its I/O API, for notifying processes when an I/O operation has data ready to be read (or an error occured or the operation is complete, etc)? 05:07:57 <_xor> First thing that comes to mind from the Windows world is I/O completion ports. 08:37:36 anybody else using yubikeys for 2FA in firefox atm? https://docs.skunkwerks.at/s/X-BIuUPVV# are my long-standing notes, but the yubikey auth simply isn't working atm 08:37:40 Title: YubiKey 5 NFC - HedgeDoc 08:37:58 given I use it every few days, it must be recent-ish breakage 09:08:41 dch: Yes I do 09:09:27 dch: well I havnt try since few weeks 09:21:19 shlTlord: if you're on latest firefox (109.x) would you mind doing a 2FA and let me know how it pans out? 12:39:18 How can I send out an IARP request, to find out what IP is attached to a MAC address on the local network? 12:39:39 (or cause one to be sent out, so that I can find out the IP?) 12:47:52 iarp? oh :) 12:47:53 https://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-questions/2007-May/thread.html#149239 12:47:54 Title: The freebsd-questions May 2007 Archive by thread 13:02:13 idwer: thanks, but .. I guess te necessary follow-up question would be: 13:02:16 Why might arping not be working for me when I ping by ethernet address? I can ping by IP just fine, but when I supply a hardware address I get a Timeout for every ping. 13:02:29 oh no, wait, one question at a time :) 13:02:50 show us your network topology, tcpdump details 13:40:12 idwer: my tcpdump shows an arp who-has going out and an is-at coming back, but arping doesn't see it. 13:42:34 Not a complex topology.. Ethernet bridged to WiFi.. 14:01:15 ...can ARP cross this L2 bridge? 21:00:17 is the maintainer for www/tor-browser for freebsd here? 21:00:36 with the sysctl.cz email address?
